My passion is to inspire leaders to rise to the challenge, whatever that will be. Over my 30-year career I’ve been privileged to be Chief Executive of the Scottish Police Services Authority and the Head of Environment for the City of Edinburgh Council. I have loved being a senior leader in Scotland and feeling I was leading organisations that contributed to the lives of people who live here. I’m a civil engineer by profession and have worked in the construction, engineering, housing, and utilities sectors. I have also worked in policing, forensics, local government, central government, training, environmental services.
Whether it’s the modernisation of front-line operational workforces, consulting on recovery and renewal strategies, or the merger of nine police organisations, I have used behavioural science, change management strategies, coaching and a systemic understanding of how organisations are governed and operate, to enable clients to achieve incredible results as they work through complicated and complex challenges.
My purpose is to make the difference, work with the problem, and enable people to play to their strengths in the workplace, whilst supporting each other with their weaknesses.
