Break, Create, Transform - How to 'Lead Well' in a School Setting!

Whilst the 'Leading Well' programme had been planned prior to the COVID_19 pandemic, it became essential to our framework of leadership support and devlopment as the pandemic changed the way we all lived and worked. The Mudd Partnership were commisioned to co-design and facilitate a tailored series of sessions for Head Teachers, Depute Head Teachers and ELC Heads of Centres to explore and provide support to anticipate and address the challenges and opportunities of leading teams in complex and everchanging circumstances.

The aims of this bespoke programme were to:

  • Enable groups of peer senior leaders to reflect together on the changes, challenges and impact on both themselves as leaders and to their setting
  • Consider the leadership qualities that would be required as preparations were made to reopen schools, including identifying strengths that could be built on to face the issues presenting the greatest challenges¬†
  • Develop and share strategies for keeping well during very challenging times; &
  • Look back to plan forward, by exploring personal and professional achievements during this period, considering 'New Horizons', and how to sustain effective leadership for improvement in the 'Recovery Phase' and beyond.
